From May 21st to 28th, at the invitation of the Center for the Promotion of Science of Serbia, CEEC Innovation Center of Saichuang Weilai Venture Capital Investment Management Company in Hungary, Eotvos Lorand University and other institutions, Wu Jianmin, Chairman of ZGC Global High-Level Think Tank Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the "Think Tank Alliance") and President of Beijing Academy of Science and Technology (hereinafter referred to as "BJAST"), led a team to Serbia and Hungary for international scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation. The entourage included Li Junkai, Secretary-General of the Think Tank Alliance and Director of the Center for International and Regional Cooperation of the BJAST, Li Baoming, Deputy Director of the Institute of Biotechnology and Health of the BJAST, Zhu Jing, research fellow, Li Lin, Deputy Director of the Office of the Beijing Academy of Science and Technology, and Ren Rong, Director of the Office of the Secretariat of the Think Tank Alliance.

 66th International Fair of Technics and Technical Achievements in Serbia

During the visit, the delegation was invited to participate in the 66th International Fair of Technics and Technical Achievements in Serbia (hereinafter referred to as the "Fair"). The fair was held in 1937 for the first time and it was one of the most important economic and technical events in Serbia and the region of South-Eastern Europe. The fair was co-hosted by the Ministry of Sustainable Technology Development and Innovation, the Ministry of Information and Communication, and the Ministry of Education of Serbia. It lasted for 4 days. The theme of this year's fair was "Towards a Sustainable Future". About 600 institutions from more than 30 countries were invited to participate in the exhibition. In the 400-square-meter exhibition area, there are exhibits of four major fields such as space technology, artificial intelligence, biomedicine, and autonomous driving. Twenty-two representative companies of Chinese science and technology enterprises participated in the exhibition, and they showed a high profile "Business Card of Science and Technology Innovation of China" to the world. The Chinese representative enterprises included BGI Group, Beijing Interstellar Glory Space Technology Co., Ltd, Beijing Yunchi Future, and Hubei Topgene Biotechnology. They showcased China's innovative achievements in fields such as artificial intelligence, Internet, Internet of Things and big data analysis through various cutting-edge high-tech exhibits.

During the fair, members of the delegation gave keynote speeches in English at a special forum hosted by the Center for the Promotion of Science of Serbia. Wu Jianmin made a report entitled "Beijing Academy of Science and Technology is an important force in building the international center for science and technology innovation in Beijing”. Li Junkai made a report entitled "Conduct multilateral think tank exchanges and cooperation to promote high-level opening up", and Li Baoming, deputy director of the Institute of Biotechnology and Health of the Beijing Academy of Science and Technology, made a report with the title of "Innovative Mechanism to Conduct Cutting-edge Technology Research and Promote High-quality Industrial Development".

The Think Tank Alliance signed memorandums of cooperation with the Center for the Promotion of Science of Serbia. Beijing Academy of Science and Technology signed memorandums of cooperation with Dedinje Cardiovascular Institute in Serbia. Zhang Jihong, Director of the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission and Administrative Commission of Zhongguancun Science Park, and Li Rui, Second Secretary of the Chinese Embassy in Serbia, attended the signing ceremony.

On May 24th, the delegation participated in the 66th International Fair of Technics and Technical Achievements in Serbia. Wu Jianmin and Li Junkai gave introductions to Li Ming, Chinese Ambassador to Serbia, and Jelena Begovic, Minister of Sustainable Technology Development and Innovation of Serbia on matters such as the information of Think Tank Alliance, as well as on the international scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation between Beijing Academy of Science and Technology and institutions in Serbia.

During the visit to Serbia, the delegation visited the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Science, the Institute for Biological Research "Sinisa Stankovic" (IBISS) of the University of Belgrade in Serbia, the University of Belgrade’s Institute for Multi-deciplication Research of the University of Belgrade, the Center for the Promotion of Science of Serbia, the Belgrade Astronomical Observatory, the Dedinje Cardiovascular Institute, the Institute of Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering of the University of Belgrade, and other institutions. In-depth exchanges were conducted on the cooperation of science and technology parks. The delegation introduced the think tank alliance and Beijing Academy of Science and Technology, and conducted in-depth exchanges on alliance construction, technological and cultural exchanges, joint research, technology transfer, joint laboratory construction, and cooperation in science and technology parks.

During their visit to Hungary, the delegation visited the CEEC Innovation Center of Saichuang Weilai Venture Capital Investment Management Company in Hungary and Eotvos Lorand University in Hungary. The Think Tank Alliance and the CEEC Innovation Center of Saichuang Weilai Venture Capital Investment Management Company signed a memorandum of cooperation at the Annual Conference of Global Science and Technology Innovation High-level Think Tank Forum held on April 28 at the ZGC Forum. During this visit, the two parties had in-depth exchanges on the implementation of the content of the memorandum of cooperation. During the delegation visit to Eotvos Lorand University, they invited the University to join the Think Tank Alliance and had discussions on scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation. Shi Yi, First Secretary of the Chinese Embassy in Hungary, and Yu Xue, Third Secretary of the Chinese Embassy in Hungary, attended the discussion and exchange. They expressed their willingness to invite universities and research institutions in Hungary to join the Think Tank Alliance and promote more practical cooperation between the Think Tank Alliance and Hungarian institutions.

The visit of the Think Tank Alliance delegation to Serbia and Hungary further promoted the contacts and exchanges with scientific research institutions and social organizations in Serbia and Hungary, discussed the ideas, goals and paths of international scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation, and expanded the "circle of friends" of the Think Tank Alliance. In the future, the Secretariat of the Think Tank Alliance will implement, consolidate and expand the scale of outcomes of the visit, make plans for innovation and promote it from a global perspective, deepen international scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation, improve the high-level open innovation cooperation mechanism, expand new paths for international scientific and technological cooperation, create a high-quality open innovation ecosystem, participate in global scientific and technological innovation governance, integrate into the global scientific and technological innovation network, and make greater contributions to building an open innovation ecosystem and achieving high-level scientific and technological self-reliance.
